Anika is my 15 year old daughter. Her and I did a little tablescaping today. We split a table in half and we each took and end.
As you can see, we both came up with very different versions of table settings! Mine a darker richer color scheme, hers subdued and soft.I just recieved my Sakura bowls with cherries in the mail today so I had to play with them! My little tiny red bowls came from Home Goods a few days ago and I have the "shouldas" cuz I only nabbed 4! A big red tissue paper flower that I learned how to make from a tutorial on Utube, is my centerpiece. Oh my new flatware from Amazon which I totally adore!

I threw in the Coke glasses at the very last second because I thought about cherry Coca~Cola....how cool is that? what a neat drink to have with dinner with these setting!

This is Anika's first tablescape on the blog.
She did a GREAT job don't you think?
She redid it over and over soooo many times and every time it looked a little different.
There were a couple of times I wanted to stop and help, but I DIDN'T!
She did it by herself and I am proud.......she even wants to do it again, but I see she is laying down right now with her eyes closed ~Giggle!
She took her own pictures and edited them all by herself too....way to go girl!!
It was a lot of fun to "play dishes" with her.....I hope she will never be too old to have this kinda fun with mom again!!
I LOVE YOU MY ANIKA!
What fun! I am so impressed that your 15-year old would want to play dishes with you. Awesome!! And you both did such a great job! Enjoy these moments, they go by so fast. I love the soft pink and aqua, with the pearls, very elegant-- she really did well with her photos, I love the different angles. Your black and red is so different, fun and the cherry plates are great. Love the coca cola glasses! I have some Dr Pepper glasses I must use sometime! Loved my visit!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much.....I think I will cry when she doesn't want to "play" any more. She loves the camera so I think I am safe for a little while longer :)

What a fun thing for you and your daughter. You know I love the cherry dishes. I decorated my entire kitchen with cherries for the first 3 weeks of June. Your whold table was bold and beautiful! Coca-Cola glasses added just the right touch. Your daughters table was so sweet and delicate. I love the turquoise and pink. And those pearls, what can I say? A girl's gotta have pearls!
