Thanks for stopping by!!

I have found so much inspiration that I have started sharing my own addiction of tablescaping. Please feel free to join me as I enter my journey and share my passion for decorating with all my lovely little "treasures".

I decorate my home with vintage, thrift store, yard sale and hand me down items. I shop ebay with a vengance for dinnerware and glassware, the postal service must adore me!

I am very casual, but a bit fussy when it comes down to details. I have spent two thirds of my life in the south, but the southerners say my "nothern side" still comes out! I am guessing this is not such a good thing....and visa versa when I am around my northern relatives, "give me a break"!

Join me any way.......I hope we can be blogging buddies no matter where we all live :)

Hurry,It's time for lunch!

A quick little table setting to play with my new Fiestaware in chocolate brown.  My desire to have chocolate 24/7 has finally come true!  Picked up at Amazon.com as a return at an amazing discount.

The pink plates were a wonderful
thrift store find.  I was about to
leave the store empty handed
when I spotted them on a bottom shelf.  Same holds true with the flatware.  my daughter and I just threw a box of flatware on a table until we found a set.  :*~:*~tada:*~:*~
sometimes it's just like magic when it happens.

If we add it all up? Let's see, twenty five cents each for the flatware per piece.  I think the loose change at the bottom of my purse for the pink plates was about two dollars, maybe? The Fiestaware was free (woo hoo, I love free) with coupons and Amazon discounts.  I had the Antique glasses.  The candleabra was from a garage sale that I painted years ago.  The most exspensive thing on the table would be the five brown taper candles. I am sad to say I paid 1.99 each for them!  It makes me very very unhappy!

So what's for lunch?  In my dreams it would be hearty beef stew in thoses bowls.  Fresh homemade bread and then an array of hot baked desserts on that dinner plate.  Coffee of course, with real cream to finish it all off.  But that's in my dreams..........:*~:*~:*~:*~:*~who can we find to cook all that?:*~:*~:*~:*~:*~:*~:*~:*~:*~:*~

More Dishes!!!

Okay, this blogging thing is all Candice's fault!  She got me hooked, so I will blame her for my new addiction to dishes too!  Yep, I have been looking at these awesome blogs for weeks and drooling over every single tablescape I come across.  Mixing and matching pieces of fine china with ironestone or plain ceramic dishes has become addictive.

Now how many dishes is too many dishes?  Well we are about to find out.  Summer is on its way and so is yard sale time....woo hoooooo!  Dishes do not have to be new to be beautiful in fact I adore vintage dishes.  I am going to collect dishes of every color, every shape, every size and every pattern that I fall in love with.  I never have had a complete set of dishes because I have never "loved" a pattern for a long time, I keep changing my mind and wanting something prettier, something of a different color or just spotted something that has made my heart sing.

A chipped plate to me is okay, even wonderful in that it holds a story.  Maybe I can find a set of 4 mismatched plates that have been cast offs from someone's old set of china.  A set of tea cups that used to be a little old ladies? Awesome!  How about a set of three dessert bowls from a yard sale for 50 cents? Hurry, grab them before they are gone!  If they are the right shade, they might coordinate with that set of soup plates I picked up from the thrift store for a buck and a half!!  Or....get this, I bought a set of flatware for 25 cents a piece!  Of course Anika and I had to do some digging around at the thrift store, but heck!

I know it's silly, but this is what I enjoy.  I don't go to the movies, out to the clubs, I don't watch a lot of t.v......I hate to read, but I love to make things pretty.  My home is my canvas and my hands are my paint brushes.

I will be posting some of my table settings for sure.  My second will be coming up very soon, but I cannot tell you what it's all about yet.  It will involve food though and plenty of it.

So if you are out and about and see some lovely dishes....think of me!
